AIR BRAKE PROGRAM  (THEORY & PRACTICAL) Class (Z)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Air Brakes are used on some medium‐duty and all heavy‐duty vehicles. The air braking system is basically a series of valves forcing compressed air through the system to generate a constant supply of air which is then used to apply the brakes.

This is a powerful system, and care must be taken to learn how to properly use the system and the potential hazards.

This 2‐Day Air Brake or ‘Z’ Endorsement Course teaches participants how the air brake system works, its many components, how to operate the air brake system and to identify defects in the system. Upon completion Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Program, an applicant will receive the certificate. Present this envelope to a DriveTest Centre within 6 months to add the Z endorsement to your license.

WHAT WILL I GRADUATE WITH AT COURSE COMPLETION?

Further to course completion students will be awarded the following:

Air brake Endorsement “Z” Certificate from the training program.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License or higher.
• Grade 10 English or Equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
